Wednesday Loves & Formula Recall

Photobucket

Linking up with Jamie today. :)

---

I changed my schedule at work back to five days a week... but they are shorter days, so I am a happier wife and mom. Or least a more rested wife and mom.

---

I sent Chris on a Craigslist find for me. He didn't die, but he didn't talk them down on price either. But, they did have a pretty funny wi-fi network name. My kind of humor.

---

Olive is being dedicated on Saturday at Chris' family's church back home. Her and I are going to stroll around town tonight to find her a little pair of shoes for her dress.

---

Haven and I put together his first big puzzle last night. I hope Haven is apart of the nerd herd when he is older; meaning I hope he always wants to put together puzzles with me, go to Space Camp together and eat Fig Newtons.

---

My perfect forecast.

And to end this post Debbie-Downer style, there is a formula recall on Gerber Goodstart Gentle {orange can}. I didn't know about this recall, but I noticed Olive spitting up a lot. In the meantime, I switched to a different gentle formula. Then over the weekend, a lady sent me the link about the recall. I also had a can that was made the day after the recalled batch was made. This is the can that was giving her so many problems.

I called the company number and they told me to empty out the recalled can and mail it back for a voucher... and then to send them what's left of my other can that I think is bad. They are sending me another voucher so that they can inspect it. In the meantime, a dietician called to check on Olive. It's a lose-lose situation because this new formula {Enfamil Gentlease} is constipating her. I plan to call her pediatrician this morning.

If you use formula, what kind do you use? I was thinking about trying a soy one since she is having spit-up issues.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

  1. That Wi-Fi name is hilarious. My friend and I heard that song twice this week and both thought it was a really odd song to hear twice in one week. We've concluded that the song is making a comeback and seeing this just confirmed it ;) haha

Just found your blog through WILW, you have such a beautiful little boy!

  2. I know the feeling of not knowing what kind of formula is best for your baby. I'm using soy now but Jackson is still spitting up on occasion. Last night at church he spit up all over a friend of ours. :-( My dr. told me that soy can be constipating too, but Jackson hasn't had any problems with that. Ugh, I just wish I knew what was causing him to spit up so that we didn't have to worry about it anymore. I guess I'm going to have to be a little more persistent with his pediatrician. You'll have to let me know what Olive's Dr. says.

  4. MJ is on Similac Sensitive (the Up & Up generic brand).
He seemed to have some spit up issues at one point, too, but I think it was just congestion related.

Hope you figure it out soon! Poor baby!

  6. Love those pics of you and Haven. The one second from the right looks a little like your bang is part of a uni-brow though. :)

Sorry about the formula. Ick. Kirsten was on Similac, and THAT was recalled. So so annoying, but she did just fine with that brand. Hope the little miss gets to feeling better!

  7. We used the gentle formulas with Ian. Soy actually made him spit up more. If you have time, drop by this weekend! We want to see you!

  8. With Joey we used the Nestle Good Start Green Label....it had some added probiotics. Joey did great on this formula.

For the constipation you might want to try adding a little probiotics. See what the pediatrician thinks and talk with the guys at the probiotic store. (We go to Vitamin World at Mid Rivers Mall)

  10. BOO for formula troubles. I have always used Enfamil Gentlease with no issues. Similac was no bueno for Miss Elena (made her constipated). BUT I have lots of friends who use it and love it. I recently switched to Target brand. So far, so good. Good luck! I know how stressful it can be. I was a mess when E was on Similac and I couldn't figure out why she was so miserable!
