Haven on the other hand, thought he was King of the World. He kept telling us that he was riding a "rocket ship." After our plane went to take off, he started screaming that he wanted off the rocket ship. :)
His little fit about wanting off the plane wouldn't have been a big deal, except that when the pilot went to take off the first time, he decided to go back to the gate because of a maintenance issue. Oh wonderful. Is 6am too early to order Jack n Coke from the service cart?
The plane was small and it didn't have overhead bins on one side, so they had all of us check our luggage at the gate. We had a Buzz Lightyear carry-on for Haven and a red carry-on for us. A few years ago when a family member gave us this red luggage set, I thought I would never have to find my luggage at baggage claim again. Wrong. :)
The airline put all of our carry-on luggage in this small warehouse connected to the airport {no gate for us since we were late coming into the airport}. After getting Olive in her car seat, keeping an eye on Haven who wanted to run free through George Bush International, and gathering the carry-ons and diaper bag, we were the last ones to get out of this warehouse and make our way through the airport.
As we were strolling up a ramp, I noticed Chris pulling a red piece of luggage with a thick blue stripe down the front. Immediately, I wanted to curl into fetal position and scream like a baby.
Our luggage got mixed up.
Big Mama Holly has never ran so fast in her life. If you all could only visualize me running, while pushing a stroller, and dragging a 60lb toddler seat by the seatbelt on the ground behind me, you would have died. I was a sight to be seen.
Needless to say... We found the people who had our luggage, had a quick swap and laugh, and kept trucking through the airport.
Girlfriend here loved Texas. Miss Sassy Pants Stanfield.
She also loved her cousin, Eliana. In this photo, I imagine Eliana saying in her Spanish accent, "This pork chop thinks I'm a tamale!"
They were ready for their Enfamil martini's at this point. :)
Not too bad of a Mother's Day vacation. :)
The Jack n' Coke was ordered on the flight home. :)

Ahhh! we are about to do this same thing in 2 weeks. At first I was really excited not to drive to Georgia, but how on earth are we each going to haul a kid, stroller, carseats, carry on and diaper bag thru 3 different airports?
ReplyDeleteI'm gpoing to have to start drinking the night before in order to prepare myself for the 5am departure from home. :) if we make it through the day without losing something or someone and justin and I still speaking to each other I'll call it a success . :) looks like you had a good time!
The picture of the screaming babies is too precious for words! Glad you survived :) I think having two kids will kick my butt :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated mama's day to you friend! I love that you got to come to Texas to visit the new little. She is adorable and how fun those girls will grow up together. Love the sunglasses photo and Woody going through the airport!

Woah. You Survived, that's amazing after that story! You make me rethink taking Cooper on an airplane anytime soon. Glad you had a good time while you were there, the girls are so cute and Haven with that rolling bag, such a handsome little man!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I love the pictures of Olive and Eliana and that picture of Haven in the airport is so sweet! Glad you had a nice visit, minus the airport problems. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnfamil martini?! I'm dying. And have NO desire to travel in an airport with my kids. At least not without a grandma or aunt or something, in addition to Peter and I.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Glad you got to hang out with Noel and your precious niece.
