High School Reunions : Chubby Troll Lands the Quarterback

One of my high school friends on facebook had posted a question over the weekend about who was in charge of our 10 year reunion.

10 years?

I see everyone I like on my newsfeed every day. :)

Anyway, our 10 year reunion will be next year. In the meantime, Chris has his 10 year reunion this September.

From the time we met, I have told him about 5,678 times, that if we had ever gone to school together, he would have had zero interest in me. Even though Mr. Stanfield is quite the hipster these days, in high school he was The Quarterback. In addition, his grandma likes to remind me that he was also voted best dressed.

Holly in high school? Excuse me while I talk in third person. It is very necessary given the fact that I am cringing at even the thought of pressing publish on this post. I was chubby. I didn't wear makeup. I cut all of my hair off trying to get a pixie cut, thinking that it would make me look like Cameron Diaz. And I never dated. I wore collar shirts and acted obnoxious. I lived vicariously through my little sister, who was the Pocahontas of high school.

Anyway, I thought this post would be fun and more accurate with pictures.

Chris in high school.

Me in high school. Please hold the laughter. I didn't know any better. When you know better, you do better. :)

But in all reality, and laughs aside, I am really looking forward to my 10 year reunion. I get to bring back my trophy husband. :)

Now, I just have to lose 20lbs, lease a luxury car, and make up a story about how I invented post-its. :)

  1. Aw, you look super cute as you are! You always have the best curly hairstyle. I skipped my reunion. Facebook ruins it. Actually, people posted pictures from the reunion on Facebook so I got to enjoy it without the awkward interactions.

  3. Oh gosh, love it all. It is so funny to think back to our high school selves and meeting our husbands back then. I don't know if Ben and I would have hit it off. And...I definitely think you can meet all of your goals by next year...especially coming up with a great invention! ;)

  5. Oh man, I hate even talking about reunions. I loved high school, but am so over it now. My 20th is this fall and much to my friends disapproval, I am not going. I see all my peeps that I still love, and the rest I can do without. I think Facebook has totally changed the face of reunions. I already know what these clowns are up to...what in the world would I have to small talk about with them now that I know what they had for breakfast??!! I have nothing to prove and so I am saving the $100 ticket cost and getting a new pair of shoes instead. But you should go to your 10. I went to mine and I think it must just be a rite of passage. It frees you up.

I am laughing with you at the Cameron Diaz, but I can't believe Chris was a football player...quarterback no less! Who knew?!

  6. I always tell Alex thank GOD we didn't meet in high school. He sounded like he was super obnoxious and I probably would have been a jerk to him. Forever sealing our fate of hating each other! Haha.
