C25K: Fat Girl Jog on the Treadmill

Like I mentioned before, I finished the C25K, but still couldn't get the 3.1 miles under 30 minutes.

That was until I decided to take the fat-girl jog to the treadmill. I set the speed, so that I couldn't fail. Forced myself to get it done under 30 minutes.

I'm pretty sure I was purple and panting for most of the day. My legs and bee-hind are still sore today. I headed to the track, but ended up doing the stairs because I'm still hurtin'. So worth it.

I don't know why getting under this time is so important to me.

I feel like if I can become a runner, then the top of my legs won't look like wet waffles anymore.

Just a hope.

Also hoping to have more progression pictures next week. Or winning the lotto and getting lipodissolve and calling it a day. :)

  6. Great job! I found your blog from Mama Laughlin and you are another great source of inspiration!

I am also trying to lose the last 14lbs of baby weight from baby #2 and once I get my YMCA membership next month I want to start running on the treadmill. Do you have any suggestions to help me get started? I need to do something different to lose the weight and I too want legs that don't look like wet waffles. :)

  7. You're hilarious! I am so proud of you for getting it in under 30 minutes! You rock my socks off girl! I feel like I can run and run and run (more like jog, jog, jog) forever, yet I still cannot increase speed. I just need to do what you did maybe and hit the treadmill. I'd love to know if you did it at 6 mph or what. And tell me.... how in the world did you not get bored out of your mind running on a treadmill? Did you have a good show on tv? Listen to good music? What? I cannot stand running on the treadmill and need tips! You're awesome Holly, totally inspiring!

  9. I can't for the life of me get a 5k done under 30 minutes. I don't even think I can do it in under 40 minutes! One day I will though. You should link up with Kristen at allinmytwenties.blogspot.com - Thursdays are "Inspire Me: Healthy" days and this post would be a great addition! Here's to shedding the wet waffles.

  10. Awesome!!! I wish I could run too...don't you just love the sweat pouring off you after a great workout? (That is, until people start plugging their noses when near you.) Good job on getting under 30 minutes!

  11. Yikes. It takes me about 30 minutes to walk a mile and a half. You did THREE miles in 30 minutes? How fast did you walk? Lightening speed?

  12. Looking good, girl! When I ran my first 5K I wanted under 30 mins too! I got 28 and some change! I was stoked...of course, I was about 35-40 pounds lighter than I am now! But way to push yourself and get under that 30 mins! :)
