Anyway, I posted yesterday about how Amy and I are doing a blog link up next Tuesday. The topic is "Day in the Life," which basically means telling us all the things you do on an average day. We thought the topic would be a fun get-to-know-you activity since a lot of our blog friends are new bloggers.
One thing about Blog Land... It can be intimidating. Especially Mommy Blog Land.. it kind of feels like high school all over again in some ways. I was in the nerd herd during high school, so no judgment from me.
After I posted yesterday, a few girls emailed me asking me how a link up works.
Good question!
1. Write a post on your blog titled "Day in the Life," just telling us what your average day looks like, what you do, do you work inside the home, work outside the home, do you have kids, do you cook, do you work out, etc.
2. At the end of your post, you would paste in the button below. There is HTML with the button {but I don't know what that means because my technology skills got the short end of the stick}. What I do know is that if someone clicks on the button inside your post, it will take them to my blog. Just copy and paste the HTML inside of your blog post and the picture and link will automatically work. It's like pulling a bunny out of a hat.
3. After you publish the post, come visit my blog. At the end of my post, there will be a "linky" link. Sounds cute, right? You click on the linky party... and you are prompted to put in your name and your blog website.
It's s lot easier than what it sounds.
All of the blogs that link up will be featured at the bottom of my post.
Click on the blog links to be taken to new blogs who also participated.
Leave comments and find new friends.
Here is the button in case you want to get started on your post.
Email me any questions... I'd love to help you! :)
Link up party is next Tuesday!

Sounds super fun and you know I'll come to any party you have!
ReplyDeleteI love Link Ups! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteCute button :) I'll totally participate. I'm just going to stick your button on my post from the other week though- my days are still the same- ha!
ReplyDeleteOMG. Wows. Ok. I'm going to have to re-read the post. I can do this. I can do it. Thanks, Holly! xxx
ReplyDeleteLinky Link - hahahaha:) I WILL be participating if I can figure this all out and not get too intimidated. For real... on my blog, my header is STILL stuck in left justified land and you would think I would of figured out how to center it - NOPE - not me. Oh did I mention my full time job is I.T. - yep super savvy.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited to try this out! Sounds techy advanced, but I think I can rub my brain cells together and figure it out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly!
You're adorable. I fo sho' am going to linkup :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this! I actually started writing down what I do on a daily basis :)
GOOD JOB ON THE BUTTON CHRIS ... Pissed you made the chick a brunette ... blondes have more fun, anyway!
Sounds fun! I'll be linking...up.

I tried to do the link at the bottom of my post but it shows the html and not the picture when I preview it... I'm pretty clueless with this sort of thing so any help you can give would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteME TOO! I copied the whole link and it just pasted as the html, not the cute linky button. HELP!
DeleteHave you been able to fix the link? If not, go back to edit the post and look at the tab sort of right above the window where you type your stuff. You'll see on the top left the words "compose" and then "HTML". You'll need to click on 'HTML' and then it will show all the formatting of everything that is in the post. That is when you want to paste in the the link up code. After you've pasted the code then you can click on 'compose' again and voila!, you have your illustration and should be good to go.
DeleteI'm excited for this linkup:]
