Giveaway Winner and Aly's Linkup

Happy Monday!

The Shabby Apple giveaway winner is... Kate! Send me an email and I will get you the $50 gift card!{I noticed a few people entered after 6pm CST last night. I apologize that those people did not make it into the Random Number Generator. Sorry!}

Aly-miester is hosting a "I Wore What??" linkup today. Since I have had my fair share of fashion club no-no's, I'd thought this would be a fun.

First of all... Be kind. :) Remember this post? Yeah, I am not fashion forward.

Aly posted last week that one of her fashion mistakes was wearing a jean jacket and khaki pants to a frat house party. Yep. I did that, too. But I also tried to rock black hair.

Then there are these photos...

I guess you could say that the reason why I have no fashion sense is because clearly my parent's didn't either... Hence the 1st grade school photo.

But the all-time fashion club no-no is a toss up between...

1. Jean overalls with an Abercrombie shirt.

2. This prom dress.

Smother me with a pillow now.

Also, if you're interested in sponsoring for November, visit this page and shoot me an email. I take great pride in my sponsors and try to give other bloggers page traffic and new readers.

Everyone knows that people don't read posts titled "Sponsors" nor do they read sponsor-related posts on weekends. I know this. Which is why I highlight my sponsors in relevant posts during the week to give them as much visibility as possible.

Red Rover, Red Rover, send November sponsors right over... :)

  6. That prom dress was so popular!! Several people showed up to our prom with it. I totally did the overalls and Abercrombie t-shirt. I also wore that Old Navy shirt with the ugly truck on it....

  9. I think we are the same age... and I totally remembered wanting that dress for prom! I guess it wasnt in my size or something bc I ended up with some blue thing... but also, your dates shoes!? Back to the prom dress... have you see the girl's dresses today? Skin tight, cut outs, high slits... The trend better return to a regular old poofy ball gown before my daughters ever go to prom!!!

  10. I can't even handle that prom picture... I mean, the dress, the tux, and HIS SHOES! Hahahaha - it's a good thing we can all look back and laugh at ourselves! :) And by the way, pretty sure I had those same exact overalls... I pray that's one fashion trend that never comes back!

  14. Ohh the 80's weren't they fun! I about died laughing at your prom dress picture! Picture covered to protect the innocent LOL! I did the overalls thing too. My Mom isisited they were the cutest little overalls she'd ever seen. I think she was trying to prevent any male attention. Oyyee Funny stuff!

  15. Scoff all you want, but I loved my overalls! I did get rid of them eventually though. Even I have standards. The prom dress and your date's shoes are too much. Love the coordination!

  16. Oh overalls! I swear I had my senior pictures taken in a pair, I thought they were THAT cool. In my mind {at the time} I convinced myself that it was a classic look! How wrong I was.

  17. Overalls. A staple in every 80's-90's wardrobe! I loved mine! Looking back I am horrified that I wore them all the time - ack! Hilarious post. I will say though, you're prom dress is better than mine! Mine was so fugly! I tell myself I purposefully picked an ugly dress cuz I didn't want to go... Yeah, that's it....

HAHA. I commented on Aly's saying I wish I had a scanner I'd totally throw my wretched outfits out there! ;)

  19. You might as well said "Hey Ash, you're a dumbass," cause I totally did a "sponsor post" on the weekend - then deleted it cause I realized that was just stupid!

I think EVERY teen girl did the overalls with the A&F shirt! Haha! I more than love that gumball pic!

  21. Holly, you crack me up! I love reading your blog! We must be very close in age, because I've literally worn every single one of the outfits you posted. I was once invited to a bridal shower in NYC (the bride was a few years older than me)- a jack and jill shower, the invite sent to my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time). I was a senior in college at the time and a jean jacket with khaki pants was suitable for a shower (in my mind). Well, we head to the shower and I ask my boyfriend where in the city it was and he says PARK AVE! So I went to a swanky bridal shower on park ave in a jean jacket and khaki pants!!! Totally embarassing!

Ok I think i wore that same overall outfit multiple times during my elementary and jr high years! Gag...I wish my parents lived closer so I could have found a bunch of old embarassing pictures to post for this link up!

Love the new blog design btw!

  23. Oh my gosh!! So much to say here .... but I can't get past your date's shoes .... I mean really?!?! And the overalls with a t-shirt, psshh, totally did that too! I even had overalls for each season: short, capri and long. I was so un-cool!

Thanks for linking up!! I had a great time reading all the posts!
