But I will say that my readership went from 100 hits a day to 3,000 hits a day when I started talking about my inner fat girl. The most frequent type of email I receive is, "What kind of cleanse did you do?"
About six weeks after Olive, I had noticed that I was starting to gain weight. Granted, I would nurse her twice a night and then wake up and toast five slices of raisin bread with real butter.
I had seen one of my friends on facebook talk about an Herbal Cleanse that they did through Advocare. I am not one to take shortcuts... and this isn't magic shakes in a box. It's a basic fiber shake that you take over a period of 10 days, as well as some vitamins to restore your digestive system.
Fiber drinks, water, eating super-Mr.Clean.
Basically, it helps get rid of that poo baby you have goin' on.
In 10 days, I had lost 10 pounds. You can see my results HERE.
More than just flushing out the old, it was a great discipline to re-train my taste buds, so to speak.
Anyway, I have been feeling really bloated and retaining a little more water than normal. I am a strick only-water drinker, who easily gets in about 80oz a day. But my eating has sucked. When I was younger, my grandmother that we had to refer as our aunt, would tell my cousin and I (are you still following?), in a thick Spanish accent, "You are not garbage disposals, you don't need to eat everything in sight."
So I am going to re-do the cleanse starting next month.
Herbal cleanse for me. Spark for Chris so that he will stop drinking Mt. Dew all the damn time. But Spark is good too, especially if you are someone that needs a little caffeine during the day.
I don't expect to lose 10 pounds. I am thinking it will be around three-four. But I know I will feel so much better afterwards.
If you're interested in doing an Herbal Cleanse, I bought (and paid full price) for this one through my real life friend, Molly Hall. Her email is: mollyhall24(at)yahoo(dot)com
It's $31.50 plus shipping.
You can also check out what to eat/not eat while on the 10 day cleanse HERE.

Happy Thursday!

A cleanse huh...that shit ( no pun intended) scares me. I do however do a internal shower as its called. A quart if room temp water and two tablespoons salt drink in the am before you eat anything and drink within an hour and about two hours later. The "shit" hits the fan. But it helps with bloating and it's free. Good luck with the cleanse
ReplyDeleteI've really been interested in these advocare products, but I am sort of sissy. I do not want to cut out my coffee, and I would probably go loco if I had to be on the strictest diet for 10 days. Mama needs a treat every now and then!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm still curious... Also, so you take just a cleanse drink and some pills everyday, but still get to eat all your meals?
I love me some advocare. I've lost 45 lbs using the products AND making huge changes to my eating and exercising habits. I lost 15 lbs on my first 24 day challenge and am in the middle of my second now. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove this cleanse!! The first time I tried it , I lost 6 pounds then gained it back two weeks later when I found out I was prego! Results not typical. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any side effects from doing this cleanse? Just wondering...I have been looking in to doing something to jump start my weight loss efforts.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to start that shit this week. Um hello? Supper bowl. Super yummy, delicious, bad for you foods to be consumed all day! And plus, beer. Lots of beer. Speaking of, can I drink the beer while doing this cleanse? If not, Im out.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to do a cleanse. I must wait until Birthday celebration is over!
ReplyDeleteYay AdvoCare! It's good stuff. :) I signed up as a distributor a little over a year ago and I'll probably continue taking these products for the rest of my life!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the shout out, sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear how the cleanse goes this time for you. I'm sure you're going to rock it again, especially if you're combining with a fitness routine. You go, MILF!!!
xo
I'm going to go research this cleanse now. You look great!

Are you starting this tomorrow? If I do it will i have to poop at work???
ReplyDeleteHaha! Best comment ever.
DeleteGood luck with the cleanse! I have been looking at those lately too. May have to give Molly a holler!
ReplyDeleteSo, do you spend the 10 days on the toilet going thru an entire 12 pack of toilet paper yourself?
ReplyDeleteDid you do this cleanse while you were nursing your daughter? I'm breastfeeding, so I was wondering if something like this would be safe?

I'm so glad you posted this! I've been thinking about advocare. My neighbor sells it too. I think I'm gonna try the herbal cleanse.
ReplyDeleteI seriously may try this when this little bebe is born! I'll have to ask Molly if this can be done while breastfeeding.
ReplyDeleteI've been talking since Thanksgiving about wanting to do a cleanse.
ReplyDeleteWhat's holding me back?? Shelling out the moola!
I think I need to jus pt suck it up and do it!
Thanks for the info!!
I emailed you Monday about being a sponsor, but I never heard back. :(
