Every year, for five years now, Chris and I have gone over to the Smith's for their Super Bowl party. Before pinterest was even around {but after Al Gore invented the Internet}, Amy has been a crafting a baking football machine. It's one of our favorite nights of the year.
If you don't know Amy, please check out her blog HERE. Honestly, she is my most genuine, sweet friend.... and her husband rivals Chris in wit.
So today, Amy is hosting a linkup asking people to share their favorite Super Bowl dishes.

Last year, I made this >> Hot Corn Dip. I was seriously wanting to take the plate of dip and hide in her basement closet alone. Real fat girl thoughts.
The only thing is that this recipe calls for a lot of ingredients, but I bought it all and had stuff for fajitas/tacos that week, so it was OK. Now go over to Amy's blog and linkup your favorite party dish.

What do you usually do for the Super Bowl? Is your team in it this year? Chris went to college with Tony Romo, so the Cowboys are our #1 team... and #1 disappointment. Plus, they just fired Sexy Rexy, so I am acting like they don't exist anymore.

I love hot corn dip! I have no idea who is even playing this year. It's really about the commercials for me.
ReplyDeleteWe usually have the best carpet picnic comprised solely of finger foods. My kiddos have taken to calling Super Bowl Sunday "that day we eat all the food". Parenting = I'm doing it right.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really good. I'm definitely going to have to linkup!
ReplyDeleteI. AM. DROOLING. that looks great!!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved this link up so much!
ReplyDeleteAnd I got a little carried away with my post! Haha
I mean, it's football and food....two of my absolute favorite things in this world!
And no one knows who's in the SuperBowl yet, silly girl!! 2 more weeks of playoff games to go through!
But you heard it here first....my prediction for the Bowl.... Broncos vs. Packers (but I'm hoping it's the 49ers instead.)
Oh no kyra those are fighting words. Packers all the way ha ha!
DeleteHaha! Nothing against your boys!! I just have a soft spot for the 9ers. (My day's team!)
DeleteAnd the hubs and I are Manning fans so I have to say I want the Broncos to win it all
And I'm a Steelers fan....so I hope there's no hard feelings all around! Haha.... : )
And Holly, I wasn't trying to be rude in my comment so I hope it wasn't take that way! :)
I just re-read it and thought it could be taken wrong with the "silly girl" - you know I ain't got nuthin' but love for ya!
Beer Dip, wings, beer, are the typical party essentials here. We're rooting for our team and if they don't make it to the big game then we host a strike and don't even turn the game on.
ReplyDeleteI just saw a delicious looking (low fat!) recipe for caprese dip that I can't wait to try. :) http://www.emilybites.com/2013/01/caprese-dip.html
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for helping with the link-up idea and for the shout out on your blog. :-) I didn't get to try this last year, but it sounds really good. Hopefully this year will be a little easier now that Jackson's older. :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the Super Bowl in forever, but maybe it would be more fun if we had a get-together. The corn dip looks delicious, I'll have to make it some time.
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing!! Chris and I usually just stay home because he has school the next day! BOO!!! But I still make snack foods I dream about for a year :)
ReplyDeleteThe party looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThe last time we did it big for the Superbowl was when the Saints were in the superbowl! We celebrated that in NOLA. I was fat that year so there was eating and drinking GALORE! IM pretty sure I had street vendor fried chicken at 3am. Oh the good times.
I'm a patriots fan....love my tom brady...but when I was younger I loved the cowbodys! well, I loved Troy Aikman! wow...now I think he resembles a cabbage patch kid!
ReplyDeleteOMG I want that dip. Man.. Rams (cough.cough.cough Lambs) - yes I am NOT a bandwagon fan I love them. LOL.. BUT I also just watch for the tight a**es and Danny Amendola:)
ReplyDeleteYum, looks delicious!! Cant wait to try it - baby girl is obsessed with corn :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Steelers fan and they were pretty bad this year :( Now I'll be happy with anybody by the Ravens.
ReplyDeleteI am drooling over that dip! The only dip I ever get to make is Buffalo Chicken Dip. I make it so much, that it makes me want to gag. I am more of a college football fan, but other than the Rams, my favorite team is the Packers. Go.Pack.Go.
ReplyDeleteCorn?? When did I eat corn??
ReplyDeletewe should have been - but we lost our playoff game today. common Broncos!! next year will be our year!!
ReplyDeleteThe dip sounds delicious! :)
