After finally making it back to the house, I was feeling exhausted I was on Day 4 of my cleanse (sneaking a little bite of processed food here and there to feel human) and I was hungry. And tired. And all I wanted was for my entire house to go to bed at 6pm.
But Chris had some news to break to me.
He got a sitter as a surprise. We were going out for dinner in an hour.
And like the good wife that I am, I couldn't even appreciate his gesture. I mean, don't get me wrong, Big Holly went out to eat. Faaa surrreee. But my hair was dirty, I was on this cleanse (have I mentioned that 385 times?), and I haven't relaxed for a moment in the day.
But it was a good time. I had my very first martini, ever. Not really following the rules of the cleanse, but it worked out in my favor since it tasted like medicine.
We were home within an hour. Haven slept right in the middle of us all night... and around 1am he wet the bed.
Happy Valentine's Day, Chris. You're so lucky to have us.

In other news, I had so many comments yesterday about my empty freezer, which lead to a bunch of friends posting pictures of the inside of their fridges. But let's have a moment of silence for the carbs that landed on the floor, people!
So tomorrow, since Friday posts are always so random, I will be hosting a What's in Yo' Fridge linkup. Just snap a picture of your freezer and fridge. List the staples that you always have on hand. Boom. Friday post.

Do you guys know my friend Marcy from Mustache Diaries? I have to say that Marcy's blog is like no other. She is a few shades crazy and one of the funniest people I know. In April, she is coming to St. Louis for a slumber party with some of our blogging besties. A few of us are doing the Go! half marathon. Others are hoping for Influenza A to get out of the half marathon. Anyway, Marcy is hosting a big Victoria's Secret giveaway on her blog today. Go check her out HERE.
And my only other shout out I would like to make is to the Nerdy Pumpkin. I bought this cosmetic bag on Sunday night and it's cute and well made. Laura, the shop owner, is not a sponsor of mine. I paid full price for this... I just thought I would pass along a great find. Go check out her shop HERE.

Awww sweetness! So glad he surprised you. But nothing like a toddler to ruin the sexy. Happens every day in my house.
ReplyDeleteYou caused quite a ruckus with that fridge picture! Can't wait to link up. How very sweet of Chris! Happy Valentine's Day Holly!
ReplyDeletehaha. dude at least your husband put in some effort! Mine probably will not, granted he works until 8 so yeah. I'm sooooo on that post I meant to take a pic and post it for you today, you obviously were reading my mind!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to share food preferences... sorry your surprise date night didnt end up that great, but its the thought that counts right? Happy Valentines Day! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was sweet! I love when they put a little thought into things. And hey, we were awake at 1 am too! Evie kept popping her head up and saying "I awake". Last night was awful ha!
ReplyDeleteHahaha!! Happy Valentine's Day Holly!! I had my first martini 5 days ago...a dulce de leche martini...and I felt like it was just what the Dr. ordered too! It's almost Friday!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou should buy an ottoscope for home use. That way when Haven complains about earaches you can just look in his ear the way the NP does and it'll be a whole lot cheaper. I think you can get one on amazon for roughly $30.
ReplyDeleteThat was cute that he planned a surprise date night! And the night BEFORE Valentine's Day so it wasn't so crowded. Smart man!
ReplyDeleteThat was nice of Chris to surprise you with dinner out last night! Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteI bet you can already guess what's in my fridge BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to link up tomorrow... Oh and bitch I love you! Thanks for the shoutout... PS totally HATE martini's and it's the thought that counts HUBBY JACK is winning today! ...pss pissing in the bed... not a good time!
Well, points for trying hubby :) Sorry it was such a crazy day. When is that cleanse over already? :)
ReplyDeleteThank God I am not the only one!! My husband came home yesterday to surprise me by making reservations tonight at a fancy schmancy restaurant and my response was "Oh" ... ha ha ... Horrible Wife of The Year award right here! I would just rather stay home honestly. Every year he feels like he HAS to do something but I honestly do not care one bit! ... So I will enjoy Valentine's Day with the Hubs and a million other people crammed into a restaurant, trying to hear each other talk - good times! But God love him for trying =) ... Fridge pics tomorrow! My freezer is empty too!! =)
ReplyDeleteI will not be showing pictures of my fridge, unless by some miracle it gets cleaned out today. I'm so embarressed by the shape it is in right now!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard at you say you are hoping for the flu! I would be right there with you!!
OMG the Medicine taste had me rolling. Guess what I got - Hair Spray.. Mmmm K... LOL... I love the fridge link-up. I am in... Good for Chris though. I know Day 3 of cleanse and still got my bitc* boots on.
ReplyDeleteCute that hubby tried to surprise you! Not so cute about the bed wetting. haha!
ReplyDeleteI bought a cosmetic bag from her about a month ago and love it! Youre hilarious - sorry your surprise date night didnt go so well :/
ReplyDeleteHaha - good for him to try and surprise you! My hubby has an exam tomorrow, so he'll be spending the day in the library, so I think our date will be delayed a little bit. Happy V-day!

Awwww Chris gets an A for effort! And are you doing that crazy advocare cleanse with Mel?! I must have missed the memo, I love torturing myself!
ReplyDeleteLol medicine and pee are two of my fave things. Be trendy like me holly.
ReplyDeleteYay for a link up but my teens are going to hate you bc they are def wiping out the fridge before this shit goes down!
Aw, that sucks that you had such a crappy day leading up to Chris's surprise date! Hopefully Haven Man makes up for the bed wetting by making you a Valentine at school/daycare. All better! :)
ReplyDeleteLove wetting the bet surprises! Those are the best kind. When we went on the worst vacation ever 2 years ago, Molly slept with Todd and I and probably wet the bed 5 out of the 7 nights we were gone. It was pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if please tell me that you are planning something on the 7th weekend for stalkers like me. Because, I already told Marcy that I needed to steal her to go to some of the good Goodwill's in the STL. I bet she would shit if I took her to the Goodwill Outlet...
Looking forward to the linkup!!
Sounds like a great night! Minus the first part!!! And I can't wait to see the link up tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Suburban Mom
You looked purdy and it's so darn cute that that was your first martini - always do the lemon drop, it's safe.
ReplyDeleteHappy lovers day!
Fridge linkup...BOOM...count me in! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAww what a sweet gesture. You look pretty in the pic, too! I posted my pic on ig but then realized it really needed to be cleaned out and it made me look like a food hoarder.
ReplyDeleteI think your hair looks cute in the pic! :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the martini's! Sex and the City hypes them up way too much! I was so excited about drinking my first one and then when I did I swore it tasted like cough medicine!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines day! Thanks for the wetting the bed story :-)
Way to go Mr Stanfield! Love date nights, even if short. Too bad mom and dad play time was delayed by a sleeping pre-schooler!
ReplyDeleteDammit, Holly! Now I have to clean my fridge! :P
ReplyDeleteAwe what nice boy hubby jack is:) what flava martini did you order? Curious since I had a fruity one that tasted delish. And the pee awesome. Well not really. Clean freak holly must have been having a panic attack. Lol poor girl. How long is that cleanse? Here's to hoping its over soon so you can have some energy again
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet hubby he is! And you guys are like the cutest couple ever.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet though to surprise you like that. Yall are so cute! I cannot believe the quality of the makeup bags. They are just the cutest. They even had a Nerdy Pumpkin tag on them. I wish I was talented...or creative...I'll take either one really lol.
ReplyDeleteWe did the same the day after. We were home by 8:30 and were too full for romance (which might have to be the name of my memoirs).
ReplyDeleteI need more info on these St Louis bloggers! Though only if I don't have to run the half!
That was so sweet of him! Thank you so much for showing off the cosmetic bag and the shout out!! :D Glad you like it!
