The anxiety post from yesterday was well received. I knew I wasn't alone, but I didn't think so many people would come out and say, "Yeah, I'm bat-shit crazy too."
Basically, my anxiety can be blamed on any of the following:
- things being out of order
- yard work
- other people's yards
- dishes in the sink
- when I am hot after blowing drying my hair
- then Chris bothering me when I am hot
- just being hot in general
- my car being a mess
- no boundaries within my family
- making myself dinky to-do lists that never end
- trying to eat healthy and then Chris getting Taco Bell
- wanting everything done at once
- for me
- with an effing cherry on top
Someone yesterday sent me the link to the CTFD method. I read the first paragraph and died. CTFD stands for Calm the F*ck Down. "And that's not a message for your kids. It's for you."
I'm going to take it to heart this month and calm the crazy. Have you ever seen someone speak in tongues? That's pretty much how I start talking when I get hot. Except it's just a spew of F-words. "fuckinshitmotherfuckerwhatthefuckinghellisthisfuckingthingfuckingdoingfuckyoufuckyoufuckyou."
Thursday when I am moving and it's 95 degrees, I will not take the heat out on Chris. If Haven wants to eat three lunchables before bed, I will not care. If Olive goes to dead-weight from 5pm to bedtime, I will join her. If Gretta wants to go all Chinese buffet.... she will. And she will love every bite of the MSG.
Another piece of advice a reader suggested was just pick five things to care about and try to let go of the rest.
So I am picking:
- The Kids
- My job
- The floors being cleaned
My life mantra, "If you have time to lean, then you have time to clean," will be loosened. A little. I am going to start telling people NO, I don't feel like it. I will stop making other people's problems my own. I will stop giving two shits if my house doesn't look perfect. And I'll see if I start caring about the stupid stuff left? Or if I just start drinking after work.
What are YOU going to do to calm the crazy??
Have you ever seen anyone prettier than Emily from Beauty and the Greek? Seriously. She is a newlywed, celebrating her one year anniversary this month. Emily is also an ER nurse and loves to travel. She is also a runner... wait until you see a picture of her long, lean legs. I was drooling. Her and her husband are in the process of building a home while planning a vacation to France and Italy. Please go check out her fun space HERE as well her other social media: twitter and bloglovin'.
Jacquelyn from Just Jacq has a great blog! She has everything from blog tutorials to fashion posts. Her and I have the same style, so I always look forward to those posts the most. She is really into fitness and hopes to be a certified yoga instructor next year. Jacquelyn just started Crossfit and has been blogging about her experiences there. Please hop on over and check out her blog HERE as well as her other social media: twitter and bloglovin'.
