If I could be any southern sweetheart, it would be, hands down, Darci from The Good Life Blog. I am obsessed with her parties, her home decor, and her easy-on-the-eyes hubby. This is the linkup of linkups, go grab her button and list five happy things.
Melanie from 4Kottez and I are doing Advocare's 10 Day Herbal Cleanse, starting Tuesday. You can buy it from my favorite person in the world HERE. For the last few years, I have done this cleanse about twice a year. It's gentle and just gets my taste buds retrained before the holidays. I like that it's only $30+ shipping compared to other cleanses.
I just want to lose my beer baby. I really just want to get the stomach flu for two days. But this will do. During the cleanse, you just eat clean. And clean as in no bread, sugar, or pasta. It comes with a fiber drink, citrus or peaches and cream. I think it's easier to choke down the citrus, but really it's not bad at all. If you order today or this weekend, you will only be a few days behind us. Then we can all binge on Halloween candy when it's over. If you have any questions about the cleanse, shoot me an email. If you join in on the de-bloating fun, hashtag your pictures on instagram ---> #HELLanie
We went for Olive's eye check up at Children's last week. They still don't think that she needs glasses, but they want to talk about doing the eye surgery again this spring. We've noticed her tilting her head again to focus and the surgery moves that null point. When I first found out that she has ocular albinism and nystagmus, I was very depressed. For her and for myself. But really, she is just fine. They didn't think she could see and now she doesn't even need glasses, so things are unicorns and butterflies over here.
my babies watching my race last week
I have my third half marathon in three weeks on Sunday (4th in 6 weeks)-- the Go! Halloween half marathon. I have contemplated sitting this one out and just doing two shorter runs this weekend, but the 1st child in me will not surrender. Downtown St Louis is the 7th circle of Hell as far as hills go, so I don't expect to PR. But instead, I am going to take it slow and steady, hang out with the girls, and dream about my mega-caloric lunch after the race.
I want to introduce you all to Amanda from My Very Own Modern Family! Her and I are real life friends. Before we moved, she even slept over at my old shoe box a few times. Amanda is a mom to FIVE girls. Four with her previous husband, and one with her boy toy, Jason. I love that Amanda blogs about her modern family, is honest about her day to day life, and just tries to be an overall happy person. She has recently lost a good amount of weight and we even ran a 10k together (in a cave! it was awful). Please hop on over and check out her blog HERE and her instagram (@zanda674).
And finally, my virtual beer drinking buddy, Sara from Sara Magdalena. Sara is a girl after my own heart. She is kind of a beer snob in the best way, she loves all things nails, Nebraska sports, and she even crochets. I just blew my own mind by spelling that correctly. But seriously, Sara is funny. Go show her some love by hopping over to her page HERE... and make sure you add her to your bloglovin' feed HERE.
PS- A big thank you to everyone who pinned the pumpkin-themed recipes yesterday. The winner of the $20 Target e-card is Becky from The Mommy Trilogy! Thanks, Becky! I will shoot you an email now.
Happy Friday, friends! Any fun plans this weekend? We are carving pumpkins tonight, which will probably last only a few minutes after we refuse to let the kids play with the carving knifes. And then tomorrow, I am heading up for dinner to see a girlfriend from college who just got engaged. Then Sunday, I have the Halloween half. A busy weekend of the best kind!
